In 1954 Late Mr. S. Sankarayya freedom fighter, Started Sri
Ganesh Utsav Committee, Khairatabad, Hyderabad. From that time every year it is developed with the continuous commitment of Mr. S. Sankarayya's family and friends
and committee members.
The Ganesh idol of this place is the tallest in the world, averaging to 50
feet.Every year lakhs of devotees
visit daily this 12 days event of Ganesh Utsav. On 12th day this huge Ganesh
idol, with the help of large cranes will be immersed in Hussain Sagar lake,
after long procession.
2015, Ganesh Ustav commences on 17.08.15 and end on 27.08.15
Theme of 2014- Shiva Viswaroopa Vinayaka is the theme of Khairatabad Ganesh 2015, Ganesh Ustav commences on 17.08.15 and end on 27.08.15
The 59 feet khairatabad Ganesha 2015 this year will in the
style of “Thrisaktimaya Moksha Ganapathi
“ for the Ganesh Chaturdi that begins
on September 17th of this year
The Ganesh Idol will be in the standing position with Godess
Saraswathi and Lakshmi to the right of the main Ganesh Idol will be a depiction
of Gajendra Moksham displaying elephant and crocodile and on the left will be
Bhadhrakali in sitting position. Nearly 150 artist were working on different
parts of the idol work began on June 12, sarvesham Ekadasi. The idol will be immersed
in the Hussain Sagar on Sunday September 27.

About 2013 Idol.
The Ganesh idol is the tallest of all the
idols that would be installed in the mandaps of Hyderabad . The height of the Khairatabad
Ganesh idol would be 59 feet. The Khairatabad Ganesh idol will be prepared
by 125 workers for over nearly 50 days.
The Ankurarpana or the initial pooja for the
Khairatabad Ganesh idol was performed on the 4th June. Workers have to work day
and night to complete the Khairatabad Ganesh idol within the Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaviti which
is on 9th September 2013.Suruchi foods has taken the onus of preparing
the 4000 Kilos of Laddu
